Bobby Britnell
I am finding that my drawings are becoming increasingly more important to me in the development of my work as a textile artist. I love using colour and explore this element through fabric dyeing and printing. Creating an illusion of space and form are recurring elements in my work and I enjoy the process of drawing and painting back into the work once it is near completion. Although both hand and machine stitch, remain of equal importance, I particularly enjoy the feel created when the fabric has been heavily stitched into by machine.
I am happy to undertake commissions and would welcome opportunities to produce and show work in public places. I offer teaching in many aspects of textile and design related topics. I enjoy teaching all levels and ages, in schools and for community projects. I currently teach City & Guilds Design and Textile Decoration Techniques at Westhope College, Craven Arms, Shropshire, UK as well as offering a number of exciting short courses. I also offer workshops all over the country.
